Altmann expands capacities

07.01.2020 von Robert Altmann

The rising degree of automation in crane construction results in more and more comprehensive and complex projects. In order to be able to implement them faster, ALTMANN has increased production and storage capacities by building a new hall.

After a 5-month building phase, not only further 720 sqm of production surface are available now, but also additional 144 sqm of office space due to the simultaneous reorganisation. Thus, the expert in hoisting technology takes account of increased staff numbers with currently 40 employees on the one hand and workplaces for future employees on the other hand.

The crane manufacturer used the expansion of storage capacity for introducing a new warehouse administration which optimizes the internal material flow.

The conditions for apprentices are also optimal as the new hall additionally hosts a training workshop for mechatronics technicians and specialists for lathe and mill cutting.

The highlight in the new building is definitely the installation of a test bench for cranes with up to 30 m span and 30 t capacity. This is exceptional for a crane manufacturer, with this facility multi-axial movements can be tested in overlapped condition. Thanks to this test bench, ALTMANN is able to shorten commissioning at the customer's site particularly in automation.

The completion of a second circular road to optimize truck loading and unloading as well as to reduce waiting and shunting times, makes the building activities in the Albaching industrial park perfect.
